Tottenham are preparing to fight Liverpool for Wilfried Bony by tabling an £18m bid for the Swansea striker.
Liverpool have been eyeing the Ivorian international as a possible replacement for Luis Suarez, whose move to Barcelona was confirmed yesterday.
But Spurs are not willing to let Bony go without a fight and are said to be lining up an £18m bid to pip the Reds to his signature, according to the Daily Mail.
Bony only joined Swansea last year in a £12m deal, when Chelsea were also keen, but has attracted widespread attention after an impressive debut season in the Premier League.
Talks are already believed to be underway between Liverpool and Bony, but the Reds also have an eye on QPR's Loic Remy, who would be available for considerably less this summer.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are also thought to be interested in Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku but having been rebuffed by their London rivals, have made Bony their number one target.
