Liverpool have revived their interest in Brazil defender Dede, 24, after Vasco da Gama admitted they have to sell.
AC Milan and Manchester United have also watched him. Club sporting director Cristiano Koehler said: 'We will find it very difficult to hold on to Dede because the club needs the resources.'
Vasco da Gama's prospect hails from the same area of Rio de Janeiro as Manchester United twins Fabio and Rafael.
