Liverpool are continuing to monitor Inter Milan midfielder Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazilian, 19, is unhappy at being left on the fringes of the first team at Inter.
Former Vasco da Gama midfielder Coutinho has won one cap for Brazil.
Liverpool have also joined the race for another Brazilian - wonderkid Lucas Rodrigues.
The Anfield club have sent scouts to watch the 19-year-old midfielder in action for Sao Paolo, according to reports in Brazil.
Liverpool's director of football Damien Comolli also watched the teenager when he played for Brazil against Scotland
Real Madrid, AC Milan and Manchester United are also tracking Rodrigues, who has played 10 games for Brazil and scored against rivals Argentina in September.
