Liverpool have made a move to sign midfielder Valon Behrami from Napoli, but the player appears set to snub the Reds for Inter.
The Premier League runners-up are bidding to add substantially to their squad this summer as they seek to equip themselves for a return to the Champions League in 2014-15, in addition to mounting another title challenge.
Swiss midfielder Behrami has fallen onto Liverpool's radar, with the Reds having moved for him in recent days, however according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, the 29-year-old prefers a switch to Inter.
The midfielder is no stranger to English football, having turned out for West Ham between 2008 and 2011.
However, the Switzerland international midfielder has spent the majority of his career in Italy, turning out for Genoa, Hellas Verona, Lazio and Fiorentina, in addition to current club Napoli.
Behrami made 21 appearances in Serie A with Napoli this season, along with six in the Champions League, three in the Europa League and three in the Coppa Italia.
