Liverpool are pondering a move for Argentinian attacking midfielder Juan Iturbe, according to reports from CalcioMercato.
The 20-year-old has been in impressive form of late for Serie A surprise package Verona after joining the club on loan from Porto.
Although Jorginho - a target for the Reds, Arsenal and Chelsea - has been stealing the headlines for the Italian side, Iturbe has been just as impressive.
His fine displays have alerted Brendan Rodgers, who is keen to build a squad capable of challenging for league titles and European qualification over the coming years.
Iturbe has netted twice in four starts for Verona this term, and is thought to be on the verge of breaking into Argentina's international set-up.
Able to play all across the front line and in a more reserved role, the youngster's versatility appeals to Rodgers, who sees him as an ideal backup option for Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez.
With the South American having penned a season-long loan agreement with Verona a move for his signature next summer is more plausible than a swoop over the winter.
Liverpool are far from short on attacking players as it stands, but Rodgers may look to free up room to add Iturbe to his ranks during the coming transfer windows.
