Liverpool are ready to splash £25m to land wantaway Benfica winger Lazar Markovic, according to reports from the Sunday People.
The Serbian youngster is currently regarded as one of European football's brightest talents, and has been earning rave reviews for his performances in Lisbon.
Although Adam Lallana of Southampton and Swiss World Cup star Xherdan Shaqiri have been mooted as the Reds' top targets, it is believed that Brendan Rodgers is extremely keen on Markovic - whom he has been tracking for some time.
A move was thought to have been unworkable, but now it has emerged that the player himself is ready to switch to Anfield.
Benfica themselves were said to be holding out for £30m, but their valuation has dipped to around £25m, further encouraging the Merseysiders.
Chelsea have also been linked with the 20-year-old, however word from the Eastern European's camp suggests that the increased chance of game time with Liverpool is a major plus point.
Benfica may look to Manchester United's inconsistent ace Nani should Markovic depart to sign for Liverpool.
