Belgian striker Divock Origi has been pictured at Liverpool's Melwood training ground as he closes in on a £9.8m move - dashing Arsenal and Tottenham's hopes of landing the starlet.
There were reports yesterday that Tottenham were still looking to hijack the Reds move for the 19-year-old. But it seems that Liverpool are now firmly in the driving seat to land the Lille youngster.
Belgian football expert Kristof Terreur confirmed that Origi was the player snapped by Liverpool fans.
And while he suggests that Origi did not undergo a medical yesterday, he is expected to do so imminently.
He would then be unveiled as a Liverpool player before being loaned back to Lille and spending another season in Ligue 1.
Express Sport understands that Benfica forward Lazar Markovic is also on Merseyside and expected to undergo a medical today.
It is possible that Origi's medical was delayed so both he and Markovic could both undergo tests at the same time.
Indeed, it seems that the Reds are on the verge of unveiling both players as their summer spending spree continues.
