Brendan Rodgers wants Liverpool to fend off competition from Manchester United and Chelsea to land a top-class midfielder.
Rodgers has already splashed out nearly £60million on four signings, Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic.
But having sold Luis Suarez to Barcelona, the Reds boss has a further £75m to play with. And according to reports, Rodgers wants a high-profile midfielder and is looking at Arturo Vidal, Paul Pogba and Marco Reus.
Vidal is valued at around £34m by Juventus, with suitors United put off by the 27-year-old's price-tag.
Chelsea target Pogba, 21, is another on Rodgers' wishlist, with Juventus valuing him at £60m.While luring Vidal or Pogba to Anfield appears unlikely, Reus has also been linked with the Merseyside club.
Reus, 25, could cost as much as £25m and was also tipped with a move to United at the back end of last season.
