Express: Reds raid for Williams

LIVERPOOL manager Brendan Rodgers is plotting a move for Swansea captain Ashley Williams.

The centre back is well known to Rodgers, who worked with Williams during his stint as Swans manager.

Rodgers is anticipating a busy summer transfer window for the Reds, and Williams is high on his list of targets.

Williams has been a reliable performer for the Swans in the Barclays Premier League term, but was on the substitutes bench as his side were on the wrong end of a 5-0 drubbing by Liverpool yesterday at Anfield.

Welsh paper The Daily Post reports Rodgers may need another centre-back with Jamie Carragher due to bring the curtain down on his Liverpool career at the end of the season.
