Liverpool are refusing to give up on the possibility of signing Ezequiel Lavezzi from Paris Saint-Germain.
Reports last week suggested that Lavezzi preferred a return to Italy - where he previously played for Napoli - should he leave the French capital this summer.
But that hasn't dissuaded Liverpool, who are prepared to pay £18.5m to land the Argentine international.PSG remain keen to offload Lavezzi to help fund a move for Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have already added Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can, Lazar Markovic, Divock Origi and Dejan Lovren this summer but still lack an out-and-out replacement for Suarez.
Brendan Rodgers appears to have turned his attentions to defensive reinforcements with moves for Alberto Moreno and Javier Manquillo close.
But it seems that a move for Lavezzi could also be on the cards in the near future.
