Liverpool are lining up a bid for Real Madrid midfielder Isco with Manchester United target James Rodriguez close to joining the Spanish club.
Real have confirmed the signing of Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich and with Sami Khedira now also look to stay put, the Madrid club's midfield is all of a sudden starting to become crowded.
And that has seen 22-year-old Isco emerge as the man to potentially make way.
According to Goal, Real are ready to listen to offers for the playmaker.
That has placed Liverpool on alert, with Brendan Rodgers still looking to reinvest the money raised by the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
Manchester City also harbour an interest in Isco, with Manuel Pellegrini having worked with the player at Malaga.
But due to concerns about Financial Fair Play City are thought to favour a loan move for Isco, while Liverpool are better placed to buy the youngster outright.
Isco made 32 La Liga appearances for Real last season but is not keen on playing a reduced role behind the Spanish giants new array of stars.
It now remains to be seen whether Liverpool are able to meet Real's asking price for the player and whether he believes he will have a greater opportunity to display his talents at Anfield.
