Liverpool are weighing up a £15m bid for Manchester United target Sami Khedira this summer.
Recent reports suggested that Khedira is on Louis Van Gaal's shortlist and would fetch around £30m.
Liverpool meanwhile have their own transfer plans this summer and Brendan Rodgers has already highlighted his need to make 'multi-dimensional' signings this summer.
The Reds have so far been rebuffed in their pursuit of Southampton ace Adam Lallana and it seems they are casting the net wider.
Reports indicate both Real and Liverpool see a move for Khedira as the perfect solution and the Reds are confident that £15m will be enough to secure his signature.
Chelsea are also keeping an eye on proceedings, but it is believed the Reds are confident they are leading the race for him.
The 27-year-old has had a catalogue of injuries which may of course come into Rodgers' thinking but it remains to be seen whether Liverpool will close out a deal.
