Southampton star Adam Lallana is set to ask for a transfer in order to complete his £25million switch to Liverpool.
Lallana is Brendan Rodgers' No 1 summer target as he bids to add quality to his squad ahead of next season's Champions League campaign. Express Sport understands the Saints have knocked back Liverpool's initial £20m offer, but the midfielder has made it clear he wants to leave for Anfield. And with England boss Roy Hodgson warning Lallana to sort his future out before the World Cup starts, the 26-year-old could have to push through the move.
According to reports, Lallana may have to submit a transfer request to seal his exit. That would risk upsetting the club he joined aged 12 and has captained since 2012. Southampton are thought to value Lallana at £25m, with the onus now on the Reds to up their bid.
