Liverpool will thrash out personal terms with Loic Remy this week after agreeing a fee of £8million with Queens Park Rangers.
The French international, who featured at the World Cup in Brazil this summer, is edging closer to becoming the Reds' fifth summer signing.
Rodgers had made Remy his top target to bolster Liverpool's forward line following the departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
And it appears the boss will get his man as personal terms and a medical are set to be completed this week.
It is hoped that if the deal can be sealed without a hitch, that the 27-year-old will be able to join up with the squad for their pre-season tour of the USA.
