Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez is confident Luis Suarez will be fit to face England on Thursday as he recovers from knee surgery.
Suarez did not feature for his country in their shock World Cup defeat to Costa Rica on Saturday but he is now back in full training after a minor knee op last month and is expected to feature against England in the crucial showdown this week.
Tabarez will watch the Liverpool star closely in training over the next few days to assess his condition but it is thought he will play, with Uruguay desperate for a win as they look to qualify for the knockout phase.
He said: "We have four days left before the game against England and if he proves that he is in good form, we will consider the possibility of him playing.
"For us, Suarez is a crucial player and everyone in the world of football knows that. He has the potential to bring a lot to the team he plays for."
