Liverpool are reportedly close to sealing a £10million deal for Bayer Leverkusen's German U21 international Emre Can.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has been heavily linked with a summer bid for the 20-year-old versatile midfielder since the end of the Premier League season a fortnight ago.
However it looked like a deal would not materialise because Bayern Munich put a buy-back clause in the £4.5million transfer which took Can to Leverkusen last summer.
But it is now being reported that Bayern cannot activate that clause until summer 2015 and it will be come null and void if a club puts in a £10million bid or above in the meantime.
That has given Rodgers the green light to try and snap up Can, who made 29 Bundesliga appearances for Leverkusen, scoring and assisting three goals apiece, last term.
And the Daily Telegraph is claiming that a deal is close to being struck with Can poised to move to Anfield in the near future.
