Liverpool are reportedly pondering a swoop to sign Manchester City's out of favour midfielder James Milner.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has already drafted in Rickie Lambert, Emre Can, Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic so far in this transfer window.
However, he is keen to beef up his squad further and with QPR striker Loic Remy poised to join after they agreed an £8.5million fee for the Frenchman, a swoop for Milner is believed to be on the cards.
The 28-year-old England international is believed to be frustrated at his lack of regular first-team action at the Etihad Stadium, having made just 11 Premier League starts last season.
It seems Milner would be tempted by the prospect of more playing time at Anfield as the Merseysiders also have Champions League football on offer next term.
No fee has been mentioned but Rodgers is already on course to spend all of the money that Liverpool will receive from Barcelona for prolific striker Luis Suarez.
