Liverpool have not given up on signing Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno but are unlikely to meet the current asking price of £20m.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has made Moreno one of his top summer targets but has been frustrated in his attempts to land the defender so far with the Spanish club turning down the club's £16m offer.
Recent reports have claimed Tottenham are interested but while Liverpool have not yet given up hope of landing the Spain international they are ready to turn to other targets soon if they are unable to negotiate a deal with Sevilla.
Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand is under consideration, while Sporting Lisbon's Argentina international Marcos Rojo and Ricardo Rodriguez, the Switzerland left back who plays in Germany for Wolfsburg, is another who has been mentioned.
Rodgers is keen to strengthen at left-back as John Flanagan was deployed there in the second half of the season even though he is a natural right-back, while Jose Enrique spent much of last term on the sidelines injured.
