Liverpool are keeping tabs on France international striker Bafetimbi Gomis ahead of the transfer window opening.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed he will try and bring in at least one new striker during the January transfer window and reports claim the highly-rated Gomis is on his list of targets.
The 27-year-old has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and could now get his chance to shine in England if Rodgers pursues his interest in the player.
Gomis currently plays his football in France with Lyon and according to reports Liverpool sent scouts to watch him in action when they took on Marseille in midweek.
They will have been impressed as well as Gomis fired home a hat-trick to send Lyon top of the table.
