Schalke general manager Horst Heldt insists that striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is not for sale amid speculation Liverpool are interested.
Huntelaar has attracted interest from the Premier League side after impressing at club level and also helping Holland to secure a place in the last four of the World Cup.
The 30-year-old has netted 59 times in 100 Bundesliga appearances since joining from AC Milan in 2010 and Heldt says the club are keen to keep hold of him.
Heldt insists that the German outfit have yet to receive an official approach from Liverpool and he has heard nothing from the player or his agent.
Heldt said: "Most recently, I've read that Liverpool FC should have interest in Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
"Liverpool, Klaas-Jan and also his adviser have not contacted us. "And we also have no interest in selling the player."
