Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is set to land Lazar Markovic from Benfica after a fee of £25million was reportedly agreed.
The Reds have been given the green light for the move and the Serbian's national team boss Ljubinko Drulovic has said the deal will prove to be a good one for the player.
"It'll be good for him and Benfica," Drulovic said.
"Going to a very strong league will help him even more to become a major player worldwide.
"He's 20 years old and has a long time to play. Markovic could prove to become a very important player in Europe."
Liverpool have already signed striker Rickie Lambert, 32, and midfielder Adam Lallana, 26, from Southampton for a combined fee of £29million, while Germany U21 midfielder Emre Can, 20, has also moved to Anfield from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth £10million.
