Liverpool want to sign Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico, according to reports in Spain.

Liverpool have struggled to find a solid first-choice goalkeeper ever since Pepe Reina left the club in 2014 for Bayern Munich.

Jurgen Klopp has reportedly set his sights on Sevilla No. 1 Rico.

And Spanish newspaper ABC claim the Reds are keen to do a deal for the 23-year-old and are willing to offer £10.5million.

The report says Liverpool are keen to strengthen in goal with the added rigours of playing Champions League football this season.

Rico has experience on the European stage and was part of Sevilla's sides that won the 2014-15 and 2015-16 Europa League titles.

However, the Reds are not willing to match the keeper's £26m release clause and will kick negotiations off with a £10.5m offer.

Rico is reportedly not considering leaving Sevilla, however, ABC claim he could be tempted into leaving the La Liga side.

The successes of his compatriots David de Gea and Adrian in the Premier League will reportedly go some way to convincing him.

And he is said to be close with Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno who joined the Anfield club from Sevilla in 2014.

Rico made 47 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish side last term and is under contract until June 2019.
