Liverpool are reportedly still in the hunt for AS Roma winger Mohamed Salah but may have to pay his club’s £42million asking price to complete the transfer.

The Egypt international had a superb season in Serie A last term, scoring 19 goals from out wide and terrorising defences with his electrifying pace.

Despite failing to make the grade during a stint at Chelsea, Salah looks ideal for Liverpool’s needs at the moment and looks well worth that kind of fee if the Reds do decide to pay up.

According to the Daily Mirror, Jurgen Klopp is determined not to give up on signing the 24-year-old, with the Liverpool manager seeing him as the ideal player to complete his attacking options at the moment.

Klopp’s side struggled badly when they lost Sadio Mane for a few weeks during the winter due to his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal.

A similarly quick and direct attacker, Salah could make Liverpool less reliant on their top scorer of last season, and boost the club’s chances of mounting a more serious title challenge next year.
