Liverpool are still thought to have Southampton's Virgil van Dijk at the top of their wishlist despite recent comments from the Saints.

Southampton boss Claude Puel claimed on Monday that the club have no interest in allowing the Dutch defender to move on to pastures new but it looks like the Reds will test the water in the summer.

Liverpool have also seen reports linking them with a £25million move for Burnley’s Michael Keane who has also been strongly connected with a return to his former club Manchester United.

However it's thought Jurgen Klopp has made the former Celtic star Van Dijk his primary target in defence.
