Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has a shortlist of winger targets for January, according to reports.

Liverpool lose Sadio Mane next week to the African Cup of Nations and could be without the Senegal international until February 5.

This has led to speculation that Jurgen Klopp will look to strengthen his side in January, especially because the Reds are in with a title challenge this season.

Klopp said in Novemeber: "Three strikers is enough, I think. But when Sadio is away we will be without a winger.

"We do not have many wingers, I would say."

And according to The Independent, Klopp has a shortlist of players which he is running the rule over this month.

1. Emil Forsberg - Red Bull Leipzig

The Sweden international has been in impressive form this season for RB Leipzig who have stunned everyone by their performances in the Bundesliga.

The newcomers sit second in the table and Forsberg has been at the heart of everything going forward.

The 25-year-old has scored five goals and provided nine assists this season, and his agent confirmed this week he has received interest from a number of 'big teams'.

2. Jese Rodriguez - Paris Saint-Germain

Jese has struggled since joining PSG last summer from Real Madrid and has been restricted to just two starts this season.

PSG boss Unai Emery has discussed the 23-year-old leaving the Parc des Princes this month, claiming it is "a possibility".

He would command a fee in the region of £20million, having left Real for £21m in the summer.

3. Julian Brandt - Bayer Leverkusen

Brandt has been in fine form this season, scoring three goals and providing six assists, despite Bayer Leverkusen's problems.

The German giants are languishing in ninth place in the table and the Independent claim he could be tempted into a January move.

The 20-year-old is a versatile winger who can play on either flank and through the middle and reportedly has a £17m release clause.

4. Gabriel Barbosa - Inter Milan

Barbosa enhanced his reputation with Brazil at the Rio Olympics and earn himself a £25m move from Santos to Inter Milan.

However, things haven't worked out for the winger and he has played just 20 minutes of league football this season.

Inter boss Stefano Pioli has admitted he could be allowed to leave this month, with a loan deal looking most likely.

5. Quincy Promes - Spartak Moscow

Promes' potential move to Liverpool has been fuelled by fellow Dutchman Georginio Wijnaldum in recent weeks.

The former Newcastle man said last weekend: "Of course I want him to come to Liverpool because I know he is a good player and also a good person who can help the team."

The 24-year-old has scored 37 goals in 72 league games for Spartak and is reportedly valued at around £20m.
