Dortmund comment on Reds' interest in Pulisic
Borussia Dortmund have again warned Liverpool they have no intention of selling Christian Pulisic amid fresh reports linking the US international with a move to Anfield.
Sources told ESPN FC in the summer that the Premier League side retained an interest in Pulisic, 18, despite seeing a bid of €13 million (£11.1m at the time) rejected in the summer, but Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc told Bild last month: "It's not worth the effort for Liverpool."
Since then, German sports weekly Sport Bild had reported that Dortmund would prefer to sell Pulisic to their former coach Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool than another club, but Zorc has now again emphasised that the player will remain at the Westfalenstadion.
"We have communicated very clearly that we won't sell Christian, and that he's very much part of our plans," Zorc told Bild on Tuesday. "Liverpool don't need to waste their time."
Pulisic, who was named the US Soccer Young Male Athlete of the Year this summer, is under contract until 2019 and the Daily Mail had reported last month that Liverpool were ready to make an offer in the region of £25m (€29.7m).
Bild reported that Pulisic and his father Mark, who also acts as his agent, will make a decision about the winger's future next summer.
Pulisic was reported to be concerned about his prospects for first-team football at the Westfalenstadion before the 2016-17 season but he is enjoying a breakthrough campaign, having made a total of 16 appearances in the Bundesliga and Champions League, starting all but one of those games.
This term, Pulisic has scored two goals and set up a further six.
