Liverpool and Tottenham are set to battle it out for Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Ante Coric after Manchester City pulled out of the race.

The Croatian starlet has been earning rave reviews following his performances for Dinamo, and reports were rife suggesting that City could look to take him to the Etihad Stadium.

However the latest reports suggest that City have walked away from the deal and have left Liverpool and Tottenham to battle it out for his signature.

Honours may have finished even in a 1-1 draw between the two sides at White Hart Lane yesterday, but press reports suggest Liverpool will win the race to sign Coric.

The Croatian international is said to have undergone a medical at Anfield, so Spurs will have to move quickly if they wish to secure a deal before Wednesday's transfer deadline.
