Liverpool could face competition from Napoli for the signature of Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has been linked with a number of midfielders in recent weeks including Ilkay Gundogan, who is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund for Manchester City, Borussia Monchengladbach's Mahmoud Dahoud and Zielinski, as he bids to improve his options over the summer.

Zielinski is rated at around £10million by Udinese and it is understood that Liverpool have been in talks with the Serie A side over a potential summer deal.

However, with the two clubs yet to agree terms, Italy's Gazzetta dello Sport have suggested Napoli are ready to try and hijack Liverpool's move for the 22-year-old with a rival offer.

Zielinski has been included in Poland's final Euro 2016 squad and it remains to be seen if a deal can be done before the tournament in France begins, and Liverpool could face an anxious wait as Klopp bids to strengthen his side over the summer.
