Liverpool have made a bid for Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia.

That is according to Gazzetto dello Sport, who claim the Reds are the first team to make an 'official offer' for the Argentina international.

The 29-year-old, who is valued at £21million, has also been linked with Premier League rivals Manchester United as well as La Liga giants Real Madrid.

But Jürgen Klopp's side have reportedly made an 'enticing bid' to get there first, despite his agent revealing over the weekend that he's happy to stay at Lazio.

“I’ve heard, but at the moment there’s nothing to speak about, just rumours,” Enzo Montepaone said on the recent speculation.

“We have to speak with Lazio and [President Claudio] Lotito, they’ll decide if the player will leave in January.

“I’ll be in Italy next week, so we’ll see. Is he happy at Lazio? Yes, I’d say he’s happy in Italy in general."
