Jürgen Klopp is hoping to make Swansea striker Andre Ayew his first Liverpool signing.

The German signed a three-year-deal on Thursday, replacing Brendan Rodgers, and has already expressed his demands to be in control of transfers at the club.

And Swansea striker Ayew is being lined up as Klopp's first acquisition, according to ESPN.

Ayew completed a move to the Liberty Stadium on a free transfer this summer - arriving from Ligue 1 outfit Marseille.

The Ghana international has taken to Premier League life brilliantly; scoring four goals in his opening eight matches.

Klopp reportedly twice tried to sign the 25-year-old when at Borussia Dortmund and now could be hoping for it to be third time lucky when the transfer window reopens in January.

Ayew - who was recently shortlisted for this year's Ballon d'Or - is currently contracted at the Swans until 2019.
