Five Liverpool loanees were in action over the weekend, while another was able to celebrate promotion thanks to victory in a play-off final.
Conor Bradley – who recently picked up three prizes at Bolton Wanderers’ end-of-season awards – helped his team claim a 1-1 draw with Barnsley in the first leg of their League One play-offs semi-final. Bolton travel to Oakwell for the second leg on Friday evening.
Meanwhile, a trio of Reds enjoyed mixed fortunes in Scotland.
Aberdeen’s Young Player of the Year Leighton Clarkson featured in a goalless draw with Hibernian, Luke Chambers played as Kilmarnock overcame Livingston 2-0 and Lucy Parry started Hibernian Women’s 2-1 defeat by Celtic Women.
In the Bundesliga, Sepp van den Berg’s Schalke were beaten 6-0 at Bayern Munich.
And finally, Jack Bearne was an unused substitute as Kidderminster Harriers won 2-0 against Brackley Town in the National League North Promotion Final, therefore earning their place in next season’s National League.
