Liverpool FC Legends will take on rivals Manchester United Legends this weekend in a bid to be crowned Legends of the North.

Jamie Carragher is the latest Reds hero to join the line-up for the charity fixture, which takes place at Old Trafford on Saturday May 21, kick-off 3pm BST.

Sir Kenny Dalglish will resume management of the LFC Legends squad, which also includes the likes of Jerzy Dudek, Sander Westerveld, Luis Garcia, Yossi Benayoun, Maxi Rodriguez and Dirk Kuyt.

Manchester United Legends also have a strong team, with Patrice Evra, John O’Shea, Mikael Silvestre, Jaap Stam, Wes Brown, Louis Saha, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Dwight Yorke and Gary Neville set to participate.

The Legends of the North fixture – which is delivered in association with Forever Reds, LFC’s former players association – will be decided over two legs, with the return match set to take place at Anfield later this year.

All proceeds from the game at Old Trafford will go to Manchester United Foundation’s work with young people across Greater Manchester. One hundred per cent of the proceeds from the home leg will support LFC Foundation, which creates life-changing opportunities for young people and families across Liverpool City Region and beyond.

Keep a close eye on LFC and LFC Foundation channels for more details of the next leg of the Legends of the North tie.
