Jordan Henderson spoke of his disappointment following the 2-1 FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea, but believes Liverpool did enough in their second-half performance to take the game to extra-time.
Goals from Ramires and Didier Drogba put the Blues two goals ahead after 51 minutes at Wembley, but the Reds reduced the arrears through substitute Andy Carroll's strike.
Kenny Dalglish's side dominated the final stages of the contest as they pursued an equaliser, and Carroll thought he had levelled when his powerful header was pushed onto the underside of the bar by Petr Cech, but the ball was deemed not to have crossed the line.
Henderson reflected: "I am not sure why we started quite slowly in the first half.
"In the second half we came out and played some good stuff and we should have got back into the game.
"I think we will be disappointed when we look back.
"We wanted to win this game and we didn't and we are very disappointed."
