Liverpool U21s were held to a 1-1 draw by Wolves in their opening Barclays Premier Reserve League game of the season as first-team manager Brendan Rodgers looked on at the Academy.
Michael Ngoo carried on his impressive goalscoring form from pre-season by giving the Reds a first-half lead when he slotted home after fine play from Dani Pacheco and Brad Smith.
Pacheco, who played the full 90 minutes, had two great chances to net himself but failed to hit the target and the misses were to prove costly as Sam Winnall smashed home an unstoppable equaliser for Wolves.
Liverpool team: Gulacsi, Flanagan, Smith, Sama, Wisdom, Coady, Ibe (Morgan 64), Roddan, Pacheco, Adorjan, Ngoo. Subs unused: Sokolik, Ward, Pelosi, Teixeira.
