Steve Cooper's U18s concluded their Al Kass International Cup campaign with a 3-1 defeat against Aspire Qatar on Tuesday.
The young Reds put themselves in front early in the match when Louis Robles converted a header.
But their opponents came storming back after falling behind, with a brace from Fahad Ali Al Abdulrahman sandwiching a penalty by Akram Hassan Afif.
No further goals were scored in the second half, though the Qataris struck the crossbar.
The result meant Cooper's team had to settle for eighth place in the tournament.
