Aston Villa boss Graham Taylor believes it is just a matter of time before Liverpool return to winning ways in the Premiership
Aston Villa boss Graham Taylor believes it is just a matter of time before Liverpool return to winning ways in the Premiership.
Villa held the Reds to a point in a 1-1 draw at Anfield on Saturday, increasing the pressure on Gerard Houllier and his Liverpool players who have now gone eleven league games without a win.
Taylor admits he feels sympathy for the Liverpool boss, but he reckons the Reds will soon emerge from their Premiership slump.
The Villa manager said: "I have sympathy for Gerard because all the criticism will fall on his shoulders.
"It is part of the job, but sometimes it is unfair. We get too much praise when things are going well and too much stick when they are not.
"When you have been in the game as long as Gerard and I, you learn to cope. The expectation at Liverpool magnifies it all the more, but Liverpool will get out of it. It is all about maintaining belief in yourself. The quality is there, no doubt about it."
