Liverpool FC Club Ambassador Phil Thompson has admitted he was 'blown away' by what he saw when he attended a Standard Chartered Football Clinic in Guangzhou earlier this morning.
The former Liverpool captain attended the event with former teammate and fellow Club Ambassador Ian Rush but while the Welshman is a veteran of these clinics, for Thommo it was a new experience.
"It was absolutely amazing," he told Liverpoolfc.tv after returning from the event. "I've never been to one before and to not just see the Community coaches in operation but actually take part in their 'blind football' exercises was a very humbling experience for me.
"I was blown away by what they were doing and to put on the blindfold and attempt to play is incredibly difficult. Anyone who is blind and plays football has my total and utmost respect and the work our guys are doing out here is an absolute credit to Liverpool Football Club."
