Skrtel reaches 200 landmark (VIDEO)

Five years ago on Friday, Martin Skrtel walked through the doors at Melwood for the very first time and today the indomitable Slovakian will stride out on to the field for his 200th appearance in a Liverpool shirt.

Over half a decade on Merseyside, Skrtel has proved beyond any doubt that he has what it takes to be a Reds stalwart at the heart of the defence and moreover that the club holds a special place in his heart.

From a shaky start against minnows Havant and Waterlooville at Anfield in January 2008, through injury that hampered his first season, Skrtel has cemented his place as an Anfield regular with a reputation revered around Europe.

And so to help celebrate a landmark couple of days for the Reds' No.37, we pieced together this fantastic compilation of the centre-back's Liverpool career so far.
