Nuri Sahin insists his brief loan spell with Liverpool was worth it because he got to play alongside Steven Gerrard.
The Turkey international's season-long stay at Anfield was cut short this week after just 12 appearances, facilitating another loan move - this time to Borussia Dortmund.
But Sahin has no regrets.
"I have matured as a player after playing alongside the best players in my position," said the midfielder.
"Xabi Alonso when I was at Real Madrid, but especially Steven Gerrard at Liverpool - even though I didn't get to play a lot with him."
Sahin, officially a Real Madrid player, will now spend the rest of the season in the Bundesliga.
