Pepe Reina is set to miss Liverpool's Europa League clash with Anzhi Makhachkala on Thursday evening, assistant manager Colin Pascoe has confirmed.
The goalkeeper sat out last Saturday's 1-0 victory over Reading after sustaining a hamstring injury while on international duty with Spain and is still undergoing rehabilitation.
The Reds will monitor the fitness of Reina ahead of Sunday's Merseyside derby with Everton, but have no other current injury concerns heading into tomorrow's visit of the Russian league leaders.
Pascoe told journalists at a pre-match press conference: "We're not quite sure [how long he'll be out for] at the moment.
"Hopefully, it won't be too long.
"He's doing his rehab at the moment and he's working hard in training. We've just got to assess him over the weekend and we'll see then."
