Liverpool FC is delighted to announce the launch today of a new official club presence on Tencent, China's second-largest social media platform.
The Tencent launch is Liverpool's second foray into the Chinese social media market, following the successful creation of an LFC page on Sina Weibo last year that has already attracted over 380,000 followers.

With Liverpool having visited mainland China for the first time last year to play a pre-season match against Guangdong Sunray Cave, the Reds have a massive following in a country where football and basketball compete to be the dominant sport.
"With over 469 million registered users, Tencent provides Liverpool a fantastic opportunity to connect with lots of our supporters in China," said Paul Rogers, head of international digital development at LFC.
"We have enjoyed fantastic success on Sina Weibo, considered China's No.1 social media platform, and now that we are on Tencent we hope we can reach even more of our fans and provide a platform for them to directly engage with the club they love in their own language."
