Glen Johnson is fit and available for Liverpool’s trip to Chelsea on Sunday, with goalkeeper Pepe Reina not too far behind with his recovery from injury.
At his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, manager Brendan Rodgers revealed that defender Johnson is fully fit after picking up a knock last month.
"Glen looks very strong so he'll be fit for the weekend," the boss explained at his press briefing at Melwood.
The Northern Irishman has not yet ruled out a return for Reina either, with the Spanish goalkeeper set to be assessed before a final decision is made on his involvement at Stamford Bridge.
Rodgers added: "We'll assess Pepe over the next 24 hours, but he's making progress. If he doesn't make the weekend then certainly I'd anticipate him to be available the following week. He's working very hard and working very well.
"He's our No.1 'keeper. Brad [Jones] has come in and done a fantastic job for us in this period. Every time he has been asked upon this year, he has done great.
"But Pepe is recuperating very well, he's working very hard. We'll see how he goes for the weekend. If not, then certainly by next week he will be available."
