Rafa reveals Reina talks

Rafael Benitez remains confident Pepe Reina will sign a new deal in the near future.

The boss has admitted talks are continuing with the player and his agent.

"We have had conversations with his agent and he knows our idea," said Benitez. "We also know his idea.

"The conversations will continue and I think it will be easy to finalise and have an agreement.

"His mentality is really good and we are really happy with him. In a top side you have to be a good goalkeeper for 90 minutes.

"He has a great character and he is always pushing his teammates. He is a leader on the pitch too."
