Joe Cole and Raul Meireles have been named in the Liverpool squad for the trip to Prague - but Steven Gerrard and Daniel Agger miss out.
The duo have not recovered from the injuries that kept them out of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Wigan and will not be risked by boss Kenny Dalglish.
Christian Poulsen also misses the clash at the Generali Arena after his wife went into labour.
However, Cole returns after tweaking his knee and Meireles has recovered from the bug that saw him withdrawn early in the second-half against the Latics.
Dalglish told Liverpoolfc.tv: "There's no point being irresponsible with any of the players at this moment. If it causes them a bit of a problem we are as well nursing them through."
The boss also revealed that record signing Andy Carroll will travel to the Czech Republic - but the No.9 will not be involved in the match.
He said: "He won't be considered for the game but will travel just to get in and amongst the lads. It'll help him to feel a part of it."
There are also places on the plane for youngsters Conor Coady, John Flanagan, Jack Robinson and Raheem Sterling. Tom Ince has also travelled.
The boss added: "The lads were all going. Most of them were going anyway. There's nothing any of the boys did on Monday night (in the Youth Cup) that surprised us."
Liverpool squad: Reina, Jones, Gulacsi, Johnson, Flanagan, Aurelio, Robinson, Kyrgiakos, Wilson, Carragher, Kelly, Skrtel, Meireles, Cole, Maxi, Jovanovic, Lucas, Coady, Ince, Sterling, Pacheco, Kuyt, Ngog.
Travelled: Andy Carroll
