Liverpool Football Club can today unveil its stylish new home kit for seasons 2010-12.
The adidas strip represents a modern interpretation of the one worn during the triumphant 1989-90 campaign, in which the Reds won title number 18, and is available to pre-order now ahead of the official launch date of May 6, 2010.
The traditional all red kit has key features including a jacquard fabric, laser cut woven club crest execution, and rich metallic gold piping detail that helps to create a jersey steeped in history, with a stylish modern twist.
On the field of play the players' jerseys will incorporate Adidas' cutting edge tech fit technology - a unique feature of the match jersey itself.
Performance benefits of tech fit include improved speed, increased endurance capabilities and enhanced proprioception. This will help give the team that all important edge over the competition, when it matters most.
The match jerseys will continue to feature climacool technology, a mixture of heat and moisture controlling materials, ventilation channels and 3D fabrics which improve air flow to the skin in the key heat zones.
The use of moisture management fabrics and conductive fibres which draw heat away from the body will also assist with players' temperature regulation regardless of the playing conditions.
Vice captain Jamie Carragher has already given the new kit the thumbs up.
"The kit's lovely," he told Liverpoolfc.tv. "But ultimately you always remember the shirts you win things in, so we'll have to win something in this."
