A goals fest against the Rams comes in at No.26 in our countdown of Liverpool's Most Exciting PL Games.
LFC's Most Exciting PL Games No.26: September 1, 2007. Liverpool 6-0 Derby County.
After firing four goals past Toulouse in the Champions League in midweek Liverpool treated the Kop to another wonderful 90 minutes' entertainment as they silenced the Rams at Anfield.
Rafael Benitez's side also went top of the Premier League after this fantastic win, which was the first time they had reached the summit since 2002-03.
Xabi Alonso opened the scoring before Ryan Babel fired a delightful goal - his first in a red shirt - on the stroke of half-time.
Torres and Alonso doubled the lead in the second half before Andriy Voronin came off the bench to make it 5-0. El Nino then had the final say when he made it 6-0 to send the Reds top of the league.
Each weeknight during the summer we'll reveal four more from our countdown from 6pm BST on LFC TV. 11-minute highlights will then be available on LFC TV Online the following morning. LFC TV is available FREE to view on SKY channel 434 and Virgin channel 544 (as part of the XL pack).
