Jack Robinson made his home debut for Wolverhampton Wanderers but was unable to prevent his loan club from slipping to a 2-1 defeat to Cardiff at Molineux on Sunday.
The full-back played for 90 minutes though Fraizer Campbell's brace secured three points for the Welsh side in the Championship clash.
There was joy for Jay Spearing, however, as Bolton recorded an emphatic 4-1 success against Hull City at the Reebok Stadium.
Up in Scotland, Danny Wilson and Michael Ngoo both went the distance for Hearts in an entertaining - but ultimately disappointing - showdown with Inverness as they suffered a 3-2 defeat at Tynecastle.
Meanwhile in Spain, Dani Pacheco played for 90 minutes but could not prevent SD Huesca from going down to a 3-1 defeat away to Elche.
Finally, Andy Carroll is likely to be involved as West Ham play host to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday evening.
