John McMahon couldn’t hide his frustration after seeing his side held to a 3-3 draw by Blackburn Rovers in an absorbing Barclays Premier Reserve League encounter on Tuesday night.
The Reds let a 2-0 lead as Blackburn stormed back in the second half to lead 3-2, but Nathan Eccleston added his second goal of the night to get a deserved equaliser.
Danny Wilson was also on target as he claimed his first goal in a red shirt.
"My main emotion is one of disappointment and frustration because we were cruising at 2-0 up, but then we took our foot off the pedal and thought things were easy but football has a habit of kicking you were it hurts," McMahon told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"They would have had a rollicking at half-time and they came out at us, battled and closed down space and went 3-2 up.
"The game is a physical game and you've got to compete but we just didn't do that and paid the price for it.
"To be fair to the lads though they kept going though and kept trying things and got back into the game."
