Luis Suarez today collected the Standard Chartered LFC Player of the Month award for December - making it a hat-trick of trophies for the striker so far this season. Watch the presentation and interview now for FREE.
The 25-year-old told Liverpoolfc.com of his pride at once again earning the fans' vote - with 34 per cent selecting him as their star man after a month in which he scored three goals.
He said: "It's extra special for me and other players because the supporters vote. When you try your best on the pitch and the supporters are happy - and also for a striker to score at Anfield - it's important.
"When the team plays well, the defenders and 'keeper are strong, the midfielders pass the ball, then it's easier for the forwards."
This season's winners so far have been Joe Allen (August), Suarez (September and October) and Jose Enrique (November).
Steven Gerrard came second this time around with 21 per cent of the vote, followed by Stewart Downing in third with 14 per cent.
