Having previously coached Luis Suarez for 18 months, Fulham boss Martin Jol knows all about the Reds' No.7 – who he rates among the finest finishers currently in world football.
The Dutchman had Suarez at his disposal during his year-and-a-half at Ajax and has therefore not been surprised by the impact the Uruguayan has had on Liverpool and English football.
"He was always a great player," said Jol, who brings the Cottagers to Anfield on Saturday knowing that Suarez has already struck 10 times in the Barclays Premier League this season.
"In 18 months with us he hit 53 goals and he is one of the best finishers in world football.
"He has become a top player and has showed it in Holland, for his national side and now in England, which is the hardest league of all to play in.
"Luis has always been his own man and scores goals for fun, but of course my job at Ajax was to make sure he kept on doing that. He did, because he is exceptional."
